The corals are healthy and thriving. Aside from a few zoanthids, none of the corals were sitting on plugs. They have some very unique specimens and some are showpiece quality straight from the store.
Dave the owner and Joe the fish keeper are wonderful to do business with. His store is clean and he offers San Diego's finest fish and corals. Dave saved my tank from complete catastrophe after another fish tank store improperly installed my tank components and the tank experienced an outbreak of ICH which killed half of my stock. Highly recommend Aquatica!!

Yes much of what they sell has a price tag higher than the standard pet shop. Hower most of what they sell can not be found in an ordinary pet shop. They have star fish and sea horses and many very exotic fish and even anemones. Many of these if you did see them in a regular pet shop would likely be more expensive than they are here. Some people may complain that it is expensive. These people do not realize what it is they are looking at and how expensive they would be some where else. They have a green blue sea horse here that I have seen only once at pet smart sold for 45$ but here they sell it at 25$. Yes that is an expensive fish however it is being sold cheaper that the going rate. This is a shop of quality products, for serious fish lovers who seek more than Platys Guppies and Betas. Also they make custom tanks here, and engineer High quality habitats with full and divers ecosystems. If you want the most exotic fish and the best habitats for them and are not afraid to lay down some serious cash this is the place to go to get the best bang for your buck. I you want a couple gold fish and a Bala shark go some where else.

I was there from the beginning and the owners are hard working people who really take great pride in their shop. In the age corporate stores it is refreshing to see that independent shops can still thrive. Between Dave and Sarah, they have great knowledge of corals, fishes, and everything else that lives in a reef tank. They sincerely care about doing the right thing for their customers. They only advise what you really need and not up sell you like so many of the other stores. They have really unique specimens at very reasonable prices. If you don't see what you're looking for they can definitely get it for you. I would highly recommend you stop by and check it out.

All of their fish are quarantined and feeding/healthy before being moved to the showroom floor. Arrival dates are listed for each fish and they provide tracking information on every fish's history. They do not use any copper medications in their tanks.
